Who we are

London Dental Academy (“we”, “us”) provides postgraduate dental training. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@londondentalacademy.co.uk.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you:

• create or update an account on the student portal;
• reserve a place on a course or pay a deposit;
• contact us by email, phone or the enquiry form;
• complete pre-course material or a feedback survey.

That information typically includes your name, email address, telephone number, GDC registration number, practice details and payment records. We do not store card details — card payments are handled by our payment provider.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• operate and improve our courses and administer your enrolment;
• communicate with you about dates, materials and changes;
• issue certificates and verifiable CPD records;
• meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases are the performance of a contract (delivering the course you booked), legitimate interests (running and improving the academy) and legal obligation (records we must keep). Where we rely on consent — for example for marketing emails — you may withdraw it at any time.

How long we keep it

Enrolment and certification records are retained for the period required to evidence your CPD and to meet our tax and professional obligations. Enquiry data that does not lead to an enrolment is deleted within 24 months.

Sharing

We share information only with processors who help us run the academy — hosting, email delivery, payment processing and analytics — under written agreements. We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may request access to your information, correction of inaccuracies, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

Information is stored on encrypted infrastructure with access limited to those who need it. Access is logged, and our systems are subject to regular review. If a breach affecting your rights occurs we will notify you and the ICO as required.
